You plant a seed into the dirt, and water it hoping for it to grow. The seed has a lot of work to do. This little sprout has to power through and push through the dirt, but once it does, the sprout can grow and flourish with the continued nourishment. However, sometimes the seed doesn’t make it. When this happens, you plant another seed, correct?
So why are we not doing this with ourselves?
Sometimes we are the planter, and the seeds are our goals. The universe is the dirt and sometimes, the goals do not see the light of day the first time. We tried, but it was not enough. So, we try again. And again, and again, until we get it right. This can be difficult because every time the sprout does not peek through (or shortly drops after) we can become unmotivated. It is so important to push through and not give up.
However, sometimes we are the seed. We feel hopeless and suffocated and that there is no upside. We are in the dirt, and it is important to understand that is not the end, but the beginning. This is a time to learn that while we can be delicate, we are powerful at the same time. We may be feeling like we are held down, but we get stronger each time we push through.
Sometimes, things do not go as planned and it feels that we need to start from the beginning. This is not the disaster you think it is. This is a blessing because while it feels we are at square one, we are past that point. We have knowledge and experience from the first time around, so this time will be better.
When we break through the dirt, we can flourish and succeed, but we still must take care of ourselves. Let’s say you spend months job hunting and waiting to get the dream job and you finally got it! You got your dream job! Now, you never go, or go a few days out of the week, or maybe go and not do your best. You can lose that job you wanted so badly. We broke through the dirt, but we need to maintain. Thankfully, we are not alone. We can help one another succeed, and when we all succeed, only good things happen. However, some people are not in this mindset.
Be careful of the people who want to shovel more dirt on you. They are not the people to keep around. Ignore them and thrive without them. You got it in you.
